Devs on Steam

Game devs speak out on Valve, Steam and conflict of interest on Ars Technica follows-up on comments by Randy Pitchford that Valve's Steam service represents a potential conflict of interest. The responses they receive from developers both small and large almost uniformly agree that this could be a concern, but no one actually seems to be steamed up about it, as they all seem very satisfied with the experience. Audiosurf developer Dylan Fitterer speculates Pitchford's comments may have been to drum up publicity for the release of Borderlands.
