The Dawn of War II Community Website announces the release of The Last Stand, the promised free DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, Relic's RTS sequel, though there is no mention of this yet on Steam News. That update also says to expect the game itself to go on sale via Steam tomorrow, but it's actually on sale right now at a 50% discount. They offer links to their Final Wave contest, an Introduction to The Last Stand, a Video Feature on The Last Stand, and profiles of the Space Marine Captain, the Ork Mekboy, and Eldar Farseer. The Last Stand is a cooperative survival mode that gives gamers control of an individual hero unit and drops a small multiplayer team into a battle with impossible odds. Players can choose between a Space Marine Captain, Eldar Farseer or Ork Mekboy and will team up with two other squad-mates in an attempt to hold out as long as possible against wave after wave of relentless attackers.
