Paradox Interactive announces the availability of a new patch for Europa Universalis: Rome Gold, bringing the grand strategy game to version 2.2. The update can be applied automatically by making use of the "check for updates" link within the game, and a manual patch is also available for download from The Patches Scrolls. Here's the general change list they provide:

· A rebalanced colonial system in which the player now has to deal with a barbarian threat
· Improved political and naval warfare AI
