Kotaku outlines EA's lawsuit to cancel five trademarks held by Tim
Langdell's Edge Games. These trademarks have been used in a number of legal
actions for various products with "Edge" in the title, with EA's concern focused
on legal threats over their Mirror's Edge property. In short, they
report: "On Sept. 11, EA filed a petition with the Trademark Trial and Appeal
Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to wipe out five trademarks
involved in the case, saying they have been threatened by Langdell for a year
over the distribution of Mirror's Edge." In long, they offer a lot of background
detail on the whole situation, including the related legal documents. Word is:
"In comments to Kotaku, EA portrayed its actions as done on behalf of the
development community."
