MCV has the announcement of the PS3 Slim, a pared down version of Sony's console that's been the worst-kept secret in the gaming world for some time now. The news is accompanied by a confirmation of a PS3 price cut, which was the second worst-kept secret in gaming over that same period. The PS3 Slim has a 120 GB hard drive, is 32% smaller and 36% lighter than its forebear, and is said to consume 34% less power. As for pricing, the PS3 Slim will cost €299.99, $299.00 and 29,980 yen, and the price on the current 80GB model has been cut to those pointes as well. Word is: " UK price has yet to be confirmed." The PS3 Slim is expected in stores by the first week in September.
