A new movie from Need for Speed: SHIFT is now available on Needforspeed.com. The header calls this the "opening video" from the racing sequel, but the caption below says it's the "attract" video shown to attendees of the EA Press Conference at GamesCom 2009 in Cologne. Either way, the clip is composed almost entirely of gameplay footage. The page and clip also add a little confusion to what we understand about the game's release date. Back in March EA announced that Need for Speed SHIFT is expected in Europe on September 17 and in North America on September 22. The conclusion of this clip, however, says the game is due on September 17 in Europe and September 15 in North America. Adding to the confusion, the caption below the clip says the reverse, that SHIFT is due "September 15th in Europe and 17th in North America." We contacted EA to iron this out, and they confirmed that the September 17 date for Europe remains in effect, but game's release in North America is now planned for September 15, a week earlier than originally expected.
