Subject: idi know you get more email than you can shake a big ass stick at but, i did not know how else to express this. i would like to thank id software for the latest decision to drop single player, for the most part, and concentrate on multiplayer. that is the greatest innovation in gaming that i can recall.

Subject: Quake ArenaWTF is going on over at id? Abandoning SP? I admit I thought Quake2 SP was ok, nothing great. Unreal, on the other hand, is the best SP experience I've had. But I think a lot of that is due to the level designs, not the engine. Basically, id is counting on improving the network code so much that almost EVERYONE who buys the game will have a good performance on it. That or he is breaking Trinity up again and coming out with a somewhat better engine with better network code to give us a multiplayer only Quake II+. Maybe they need to get something out there soon, maybe what he has planned for Trinity isn't feasible soon, or what they could get done wouldn't be radical. weird. Of course, I will still buy it ;)

Subject: Wow, what a day for news!Man, this is the day we hope for all year long. I read BN 15x a day, just hoping to strike it rich with some steamy log file or news blurb.
Today takes the cake. A famous day in gaming history. Okay, it's 2 days actually (3dRealms yesterday, id today).
I can't wait for next year already!
Keep up the good work reporting NEWS! Damn, I still can't believe it. I play Q2 on the internet 4 hours a day. Man, I'm looking forward to Quake Arena.
And The Duke is still the best game ever! What a day! Weeee!

Subject:New Direction in Quake 3Just an open letter about Quake 3.
I must say I had to check the date of this post a few times. No it wasn't April 1st !!!
After the new emphasis on the single player game in quake 2, I was happy and comfortable knowing that Quake 3 could only be the next step to a even better single player experience. While being an avid Deathmatcher, I, like many single players just don't get the time nor the friends on call to have networked games, and living in Australia rules me out of internet play.
I thought that is why Quake 2 was such a giant step forward over Quake and it's success. It was their care in assuring Quake 2 was the best single player game available.
Yeah, I can't say I am all to happy about this Id Software.
Is this sudden turnaround due to the fact that Unreal seems to be the center of attention lately, and the recent episode with Duke Forever ?
