But how the hell could I do 1680x1050 on my Samsung and 1680x1050 within 1080p (black borders) on my Sharp cloned with my ol' x1950xt.
But now Windows 7 and this beast of a card won't let me do that... Argh!

I've recalculated the price of this system twice now since I bought the parts and twice it has gone up instead of down*

Finally got around to doubling the RAM. Figured I'd do so before the exact RAM I got was no longer for sale.
Was helping a friend design a machine today.
Prices haven't really changed, most have gone up.

The 5870's fan died today.
Started with a loud screeching and now it's a periodic loud grinding noise. It's still "working" for now but the noise is annoying and I suspect it'll totally die and the card will overheat soon.
Going to be replacing with an ASUS MATRIX-R9280X-P-3GD5.
edit: Guess that was sold out... getting this instead:
ASUS ROG MATRIX Radeon HD 7970 Platinum
It'll be here tomorrow thanks to Amazon Prime.

I still have this machine. Still plays all the games I want to play and at reasonable framerates.
