I currently have 239 games installed through Steam, which is fine by me. Personally I like it that way as I can format whenever I like and have all my games up and running immediately. I've even rebought many games I already owned on disk for the sake of convenience (UT3, BF2, Q2, HL). I know for a fact I'd have a shitload more if Steam had a half-decent selection of older games (Age Of Empires, Warcraft, Worms, Lemmings, Tribes 2, Starlancer, Tie Fighter, etc). Currently my Steam folder is over 565GB in size, though fortunately it's on a 1.5TB drive. |

Hard to tell how long. Started when Vista x64 came out at the end of January 07. Had only around ~150 games then. Been buying from Amazon and eBay since then. Kept the same OS install and did an in place upgrade to Windows 7 on October 22nd. Total time to install, patch, configure, and troubleshoot is in the hundreds of hours. |

I'm betting he only plays maybe three or four of those still.
edit - Looks like you've got some non-running games too. Interstate'76 is one. It runs. All of them run.
Really? I could never get that fucker to run on XP. I have the 2 discs sitting in the box on my desk still, but the last time I tried to install it, I dunno, I guess my machine was just too new to run it. What tricks do you have to do to make it work?
Some of the earlier Win95/98 games use a 16-bit installer which won't work on a 64-bit OS. I use Virtual PC with XP (Now WinXP mode since it's free with Windows 7) to install the game and then copy the files and registry entries over to Windows 7 x64. Interstate 76 runs in Software, Direct3D, and even Glide with a Glide wrapper.
I use DOSBox for all of the DOS games. Never had a problem running a DOS game with it. I've gotten really good creating/tweaking .conf files and shortcuts for specific DOS games.

Congratulations! I skimmed over that list and due to the presence of AVP, Sof 1 & 2, and the Bloodrayne series, I hereby declare you worthy!
Edit: The exclusion of SOF:Payback amongst such an exhaustive list clearly indicates that you have taste.

That's me too. I think I have maybe 5 games installed on my PC right now. Yeah, this makes me jealous though... I think it's time to create an external games drive that can move when my system is upgraded. |

I usually format and do a clean install of Windows every 1-2 years and I don't reinstall any games other than a few I have a current interest in. That's me too. I think I have maybe 5 games installed on my PC right now.

How much hard disk space do they take up? Do you have to keep reinstalling them every time you reinstall Windows? I usually format and do a clean install of Windows every 1-2 years and I don't reinstall any games other than a few I have a current interest in. |

Is it wrong that I am in awe of something so... nerdy?
I easily own that many, but I don't think I can have them all installed at once.

Dear Lord... How SLOW is your computer? It must've taken 20 minutes just to build that list.
And here I thought my last XP install had a ton of games on it, with 32.
Heretic's still on there! Heretic!
