The Overlord is pretty spot on, thanks! We might use it later when explaining the game.

We're very confident that we'll be able to meet our release targets, but thanks for the concern and well wishes.

3) We are very close to a pre-alpha build, and we have a first early-access release planned for May 1. We do have some very early gameplay available on our youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC36yE13N4FSlvMBlqIkBG2Q

You could have just said "It's like Overlord done cute" ;p not sure that's a selling point to our grumpy asylum residents here, but it sure would have explained the game idea instantly and quicker.

Also I assume funds are going to be the main problem... the idea itself is not new, but unless you have a strong visual aesthetic and some well written/animated/instigated motivation behind the things we do in the game you might find some people get quickly bored of the concept itself. Running around with swarms and doing things with them, I remember playing quite a few games that had that both on console and pc.

Anyhow, hope you guys and gals can finish this project and bring it to release. I'd be really careful about pushing anything unfinished on early access at steam btw.

When you guys are further along, say about to enter a beta, send Blue an email with your trailer footage on youtube. I'm sure he'll post it front page and get you guys some exposure.

Thanks for writing us back!

1) Th shortened link was entirely so we could track traffic sources, but I totally understand why that might give someone pause.

2) We are using Medium because it gives people a non-RSS option for following us, has great social and content integration, and also gives us really useful statistics about who is reading out posts and how those posts are performing. We do have a website! It's an early build now, and we're updating soon, but people are welcome to take a look. http://terrorarium.games/

Thanks, this is definitely helpful!

1. Don't post shortened links if you want people to click on them.

2. Why are you posting on Medium? A lot of people might find that suspect. Set up your own website. It's cheap, it shows you have some skills, and it allows you to control the message.

3. Do you have a vid of alpha gameplay? If all you've got is a piece of concept art and some maps drawn on napkins, it's too early to involve us. You're artists: execute your vision. When you enter alpha, solicit feedback and tweak.

Howdy, folks!

We've just released a new update to our dev blog, this focusing on the joys of level design. We're shifting from concept art to working on our first playable demo, which is very exciting. We're also accepting applications for play-testers for our upcoming pre-alpha release.

We'd love to hear what you think about the post!

Thanks a lot, and we hope you dig it!

Cheers,

Hi folks!

We're a small indie studio based in Toronto, and we've just started a dev blog! We have a few entries now and are starting to gain some momentum, and would love to know what you think about it!

The game we're making is a strategy/puzzle game that involves a lot of wanton destruction, adorable gore, and gardening. You get to play an alien grandma who has a real chip on her shoulder about losing the blue ribbon at the Intergalactic Horrorculture Society competition. It's a hell of a lot of sun to make (and, we hope, to play).

We have a ton of experience developing digital experiences, games, and AR and VR projects (and even some ARGs), but this is only our second foray into developing an original IP from scratch. We're trying a kind of radical honesty in our approach this time, and are doing our best to be as open and transparent about our creative process as we can. We thought some of you might be interested in our process.

Thanks a lot, and we hope you dig it!

Cheers,

The Terrorarium Team
