The guy who knows nothing about football is doing quite well! People at work are asking for my advice picking teams for the pool. They think I am lying when I tell them to just pick their favorite team name or mascot.

Me too! (I'm on there as Whisperfang) I know how football is played and know most if not all of the rules, but I almost NEVER keep up with teams. Sports don't really interest me. As I said in an OotB a few days ago, I picked the only two I know anything about and then for the rest of the games I picked the underdogs.

And now the Cardinals have a running back on the naughty list. Wonder if this will keep going as people start digging.

Another week of uncertainty. Sucks for trying to make accurate picks, but great from a watching stand point.

Morons didn't learn from the NFL Ray Rice thing.....just stupid. Money before common sense. The only thing ANYONE in the NFL cares about is $.

I applaud the large corporations (Carlson company in particular) for pulling out their sponsorship so quickly.

Maybe this is the year the NFL loses their tax free tag. Would be nice.

Wow. 10.5 points? Taking the Vikes in the spread league....

Last weekend's games made me feel like a gambler chasing his losses... a terrible outcome in the early games gave way to hopes for an afternoon rebound which didn't materialize. I felt good about the Sunday night matchup, too. Boom, another loser. At least Monday Night Football was a lock, right? Ouch. Looking over the schedule this week, there are more scary games. Maybe that's good, I should be afraid at this point.

On Sunday my Giants had four turnovers, two picks and two fumbles. Eli threw one interception that was tipped by a lineman and another on a last-second Hail Mary, to go along with Quintin Demps' first fumble since 2008 and Rashad Jennings' first fumble since 2012. For Demps and Jennings, each was only the second fumble lost in their careers, even though Demps encountered minimal contact before losing the ball, and Jennings was completely untouched. Everyone knows how key turnovers are in the NFL... sometimes you have to suspect that a higher power has money on the game.

Speaking of higher powers, I picture Roger Goodell in a bunker somewhere at this point... A couple of weeks ago I was surprised that people thought he might lose his job... soon it's going to get to the point where I'm surprised he hasn't been fired already.

Laying low would have been a good approach for the Vikings brass, as they seemed absolutely asinine at their press conference about putting A.D. on the poorly named "exempt list," as they repeated their talking points until it was embarrassing. We want to "get it right" seemed okay the first few times, but it lost all meaning when it became a mantra (oddly repeated at other pressers, as if a league-wide central talking points memo was issued). Usually it's better to face the music personally, but the not eloquent to start with Wilf brothers would have been better off hiring a PR flack for this... even Joe Isuzu.
