I cant wait for this game to come out & after reading the extensive review in PC Gamer it looks like this game is going to hit a home run. PCG rated it at 84% and that's an excellent rating for an enthusiast/hardcore focused game. I was going to get it on Steam but in the past I have heard Steam does not play well with some Mods & this game is going to have TONS of mods. Allthumbsup

I'll wait for the reviews. I hear the campaign is porked at the moment. Problems like that should never see the light of day.

Amazing how gaming sites can overlook alot of the bug issues in the game (even though they mention like in the PC Gamer UK review) that have plagued all of Bohemian's games since Operation Flashpoint.

Apparently the real limit is 64 but BiS seems to be advertising it as 50, perhaps due to advertised specs or who knows.. The real limit seems to be 64.

Because they see the forest for the trees. All of their games have been incredibly ambitious and the good more than makes up for the bad. Read the eurogamer review for instance.

Arma1 was a trainwreck however.

There will be a demo out soon too, within weeks.

Game is definitely worth a look if you like military sims. Sure there will be bugs as the game is covering large spectrum of weaponry and huge world. However, it wont be anywhere to the level of Arma1 bugs at release.

I bought the game in hopes that they'll fix the remaining issues. Even if they don't, there's a lot of content in there and the mod community is very productive for both ArmA games which I think will make the game far better than the base game.

Hey thanks for the gogamer reference! Ordered a copy from there just now. I know the game is clunky, tiny player count considering the huge size of the map, has bugs, might have some performance issues, etc etc.. But I think I will enjoy it and will get my money's worth. I also want to support BiS and hope other companies will follow their example and make more and better games like this.

The actual limit is "no limit". There is no hardcoded limit. It really depends on the server bandwidth more than anything else. 50 players is pretty much the highest that have been tested. There has been community tests with several hundred players in a game of Arma1.

Supposedly today or tomorrow for the demo. Guess I'll try it out because we still have 2½ weeks until store shelves. Source = Link

I know, I have participated in a battle or two like that. The best gaming experience money can buy; so long as the server doesn't crash and the match has to restart, the battle rages for hours, logistics has to be taken into account, the works. I recommend it to anyone, and as soon as an ARMA2 tournament starts I'll buy the game.

I looked forward to this and bought it, but have since lost interest and here is why:

The game has stupidly high demands of your PC for even the very lowest, and most mediocre graphics settings. My PC happily runs COD 4 and Company Of heroes on high-very high, but it struggled on 'very low' with Arm-A. I have no idea what machines reviewers played it on, but I'm guessing minimum quad core PCs with cutting edge SLI and 4 gigs of RAM.
My machines is a core 1 duo 2 gigs 8800 GTS, and it ran so badly as to be unplayable, and that's even on very low res with everything at bottom.
I'm sure there is a great game in here struggling to get out, but unless your PC is ninja-spec be very wary of buying this without trying a demo.

There is just no other experience out there like playing OpFlash and Arma. Yeah, I know it's buggier than a fire ant hill but damn! This game series serves up such a unique experience that I hardly care. I'm excited.

BTW, does the Steam release date of June 26th refer to NA? It seems like it does.

I'm running it on a Core2 Duo (E8400), 2GB RAM, 8800 GTS on Vista x64. I'm getting a good framerates with everything set to normal.

BTW, does the Steam release date of June 26th refer to NA? It seems like it does

Hope so Rifle

Your computer is too old for an OS released 2 years ago, let alone a game released today. Time to stop being a cheapskate.

Pretty sure it is the 27th, but yes, it is NA release. If you are in NA, you won't get games advertised to your STEAM account unless they are NA releases. (It's been on STEAM in Europe for a while now)
