- Improved Micro AI tactics, attack in pairs, path limiting to avoid passing through walls
- Fixed multiplayer session NAT negotiation
- Improved game stability (various crash opportunities fixed)
- Multiple save slots supported
- Improved terrain shape beyond map borders
- Various campaign and localization fixes and improvements
- Modules (F7) support added in the Mission Editor
- Added option to disable various post-process effects (bloom, blur etc.)

Will there be a playable demo? I don't recall the first game having one.

Basically, lots of gamers have a whole helluvalot of patience for the specific games they want, and when the developer is actively fixing problems, they're willing to exercise that patience for the idea that polish will come, even if it's not on release day like it should be.

Exactly. I'm willing to forgive BIS for a lot more than the average developer for this reason.

I just don't get it, they keep releasing bug filled games, one after another, people keep buying them, even though the previous game is a mess, and turn around and tell them 'good job'.

There is a huge collection of rabid fanboys that think BIS can do absolutely no wrong. I know it sounds like a cliche but it is so true. I assume many players were young when Operation Flashpoint came out and now that they are older people feel nostalgic towards BIS.

ARMA1 still is not working properly. It takes BIS 6 months to a year to release a buggy patch that does more harm than good to make the game stable. They run open beta tests on patches in the community and then completely ignore the results and release final versions of the patch with new UNTESTED features that takes them another year to fix!

There are tons of people who work on missions and addons and never actually seem to play the game. All they really are in love with is making things for Arma. What is amazing is almost none of these creations are used by the community. Only a tiny fraction ever get used.

Arma1 is abandoned and the fanboys line up to be screwed again by BIS.

It's not such a mystery, really. People play games to be entertained. A game with potential in a genre you enjoy is less rare than a game at full potential in a genre you enjoy these days, what with all the shovelware on every platform that's poorly designed, poorly coded or both. Something with potential will get patience from its core audience because they have few other options, and a developer releasing a buggy game but patching it afterwards ultimately ends them up with a game at its full potential.

Basically, lots of gamers have a whole helluvalot of patience for the specific games they want, and when the developer is actively fixing problems, they're willing to exercise that patience for the idea that polish will come, even if it's not on release day like it should be.

I love the tactical FPS genre. It's the genre that over and over proves my pessimism right. Expect the worst, get the worst. Awesome.

It annoys me too that the release of constant patches is always perceived as a good thing. When a studio keeps rushing out buggy games that take 2 years to near a polished state, this is not cause for a pat on the back.

What frustrates me with BIS is the major bugs in this title launch read just like OFP and ArmA's. I guess thats what happens when a game engine is rehashed for its 3rd outing. I would love to see the state of their source code after 3 titles, expansion packs, and 10 years of endless bug fix patchery. For me a no sale, despite my temptation I confess. Hoping OFP:DR makes for a better *game* even if it is less sim'y. I'm not convinced both is possible.

As expected, very nice support from these guys once again for an awesome real PC game. Cant wait till my TrackIR5 arrives.
I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.

2 patches for Arma2 and they still haven't finished the final patch for Arma1. It has been over 6 months already.

Nice.. Bloom can be performance hit so that's welcome and blur is annoying when FPS is below 30.

Thanks BiS! Please continue to improve the game. There's a huge potential with it.
