Downsized Crystal Dynamics Still "AAA"

Develop reports on a job posting for Crystal Dynamics, saying in spite of layoffs in January and again just last week, the Square Enix-owned developer is working on a "AAA" title. The listing specifically says "one of the most prestigious AAA franchises in the industry," which we're guessing is also one of the most prestigious DDD franchises in the industry: Tomb Raider.

I swear this is how it happened for the porn industry. Started with X, then XXX. Now it's up to, like, fifty Xs for how sick the stuff in the video is. Funny thing is, those fifty X videos are about as tame as the original Xs were. The only difference is the women are hotter.

Actually, this is exactly what's going on with titles these days.

Crystal Dynamics has a rare opening for a Senior Art Director on one of the most prestigious AAA franchises in the industry. We are looking for an exceptional talent to bring onto the team and continue the long tradition of visually stunning and award winning titles from Crystal Dynamics.

The job description reads like it was penned by the PR department.
