for the StarCraft II beta. No start date for the beta is offered, but
Kotaku does say they were given a June 19 deadline to send writers' account

You can buy a cdkey for any old Blizzard game for like $5 online, that will let you register your product and get an opt-in for the beta. Assuming you care that muchOn top of that you can register any valid CD key with a Battle.net account on the webpage, and that will allow you to download full install files for any Blizzard game that you register. Worked out great when I wanted to reinstall Diablo 2 on my shitty laptop that won't run anything new, but my original Diablo 2 CD is more beat up than "Shamwow" Vince's hookers.
I forgot to slap my hands over my ears to avoid any more news about Starcraft until they just release the damn thing. Oh, that's right. We don't need to use our ears to read it on the net. Curses - foiled again.

Diablo 3 looks like it might be fun, but I just can't get excited about SC2. Kind of a shame really. Seems like they were too locked into the old gameplay by the diehard SC fanbase to do anything new or interesting with it.

Can't seem to get excited about this. I haven't been a big fan of Blizzard games lately so I guess this is just not that important to me.
The gameplay also comes off a little dated. Reminds me of Red Alert 3 at times, it has all kinds of quality stuff but it's essentially just the same old game with new graphics...
At least that is what it looks like to me... But I guess some things never get old...

My uneducated guess is early mid-August/September to coincide with Blizzcon, assuming they're giving out SC2 beta keys at Blizzcon instead of Diablo 3 keys this year.
Also can't wait, one of the few games in the last several years I'm actually excited about.
