I grabbed SotS Ultimate. Looked too good to pass up for 8 bucks.

Sword of the Stars is, by far, my favorite 4X game, and one of my favorite games ever. It did improve with each expansion, and the Argos Naval Shipyard micro-expansion (to be released on the 17th) will probably enhance it even more.
I dare say it's not entirely up to them; they get to ask Activision nicely if they want to participate in a sale, and some asshole there decides that sure, why not, $1.49 off. I can't quite decide if they seriously think it'll make a difference or if they're trying to be insulting to Impulse and their customers.
Impulse also has Sword of the Stars: Ultimate for $7.99 which is also the same at GamersGate. From what I've heard (haven't played it yet as it's still downloading

Note to Impulse guys: Marking something down from $50 to $48.50 is not really what I'd call a sale.Yeah, that's absolutely ridiculous. I really want to know the thought process behind that. I mean, how did they come to the conclusion that a 3% discount would be a good idea? It's just marketing bullshit.

The odd thing is that distinctly remember Brad Wardell acknowledging that very fact in an interview. He said data shows that a 10% price reduction offers virtually no sales boost at all.
EDIT: To Impulse's credit, however, they have Rock Legend 50% off. It is a nifty little band management sim well worth the 5 bucks.
