So we finally made our way to Costco in search of this fabled Mexican Coca Cola
made with real cane sugar. Unfortunately, they did not carry it, so it's
possible this is only something one can find in states closer to Mexico itself,
or maybe it was just a deficiency at the store we visited. On the other hand, we
did find some of that "throwback" Pepsi made with sugar, which turned out to be
great, even though I'm normally not a big Pepsi fan.

I'm pretty much addicted to Pepsi Max as its almost "trace" along the board of fattening stuff and has caffeine in it. I like the taste and it doesnt make me fat after drinking 2L of the stuff

Well between Spybot, Hijackthis, and Malwarebytes I got one machine clean. The other is still screwed but I think that machine was so fucked up to begin with that this is a good time to whack it and stack it. Got a good mind to not give this guy local admin rights when I do clean his machine. But in the end that will just punish me as I will have to go over there every time he wants something installed.

Sorry, it's a habit of only being able to go off what you read (I'm a translator sitting in what's mistakenly labeled as an interpreter's position). I had to do a little reading on the soft-drink market and there's a shit-ton of people who'll buy both brands, if not three, at the same time. Sometimes more.
What are you guys using to try and cleanup spyware and nasty pop ups?
heres a nice cocktail for you: combofix, sdfix, smit fraud fix, spybot, superantispyware, malwarebytes, dr. web online, bitdefender online
make sure you dump the 'system restore' cache after you do a final scan (turn sys restore off then back on), also a good idea to run a thorough registry cleaner too

Can't be too rare; Pepsi and Coca-Cola make up more than 70% of the carbonated soft-drink market. If you're talking about the rare person who actually drinks both brands, then yeah...I personally can't stand either, but if I can find it here, I'll go for Mello-Yello from time-to-time
I'm one of those rare people that will drink Coke or Pepsi (or even RC!). I have a slight preference for Pepsi, but most of the time I'm drinking Diet Dew anyway. When eating out my favorite drink order is, "I'll take whichever brown, cola based substance you sell."

I've used Spybot Search and Destroy since my college days, but Malwarebytes does seem to be much better. Thanks for the suggest.

No - most US Coke just uses corn syrup instead of plain sugar.
Edit - and I am sorry, Coke tastes a whole hell of a lot better than Pepsi. At least Coke has flavor, Pepsi is just icky sweet but otherwise kinda bland.

What are you guys using to try and cleanup spyware and nasty pop ups? I have used spybot and adaware in the past with limited results. I now have a user getting some nasty video ad pop ups. Most of the time I do clean installs but this is a developer and he can't be down that long. Plus a reinstall would be a nightmare with all the stuff he has on his computer.

If it's a work machine it's maybe time to call in *gasp* Norton. Or have a second machine for non-work stuff.

We have the Mexican Coke here in Cincinnati, too. I'm not sure if CostCo has it, but it's available elsewhere. I almost never drink soda anymore, but the real-sugar Coke is pretty awesome.
If you want Coke with real sugar, you can also find it during Jewish Passover as it has to be real sugar for it to be Kosher.
