Thats not the new tank, it's a whole new zombie. it's kind of a mutated half-tank that uses it's super-arm to bat people around. Apparently it won't knock you down, just put you in lala land for a few moments lol.

I think people who feel Valve dropped support on their game have every right to complain loudly. I liked the game, I played it, I moved on (we have 3 copies here). My kids occassionally return to it. But some folsk play it like other valve games and expect the same level of service and support. I think that's a reasonable expectation. I see why Valve is doing a 2nd version, one to beef up Xbox's aweful exclusive line up and collecting a nice profit from Xbox while also releasing a better and more fleshed out modern L4D, as the other one was dated (but fun). This could all be somewhat solved with a discount to previous owners but don't hold your breath.

Valve makes a good case for how their DLC plans evolved into a full-on sequel, which is why I think it's perfectly fair if they instead transform their free DLC plans into a discount-for-the-sequel plan.


The whole situation seems very similar to the "canceled Black Box" situation of a couple years ago, where the concession was copies of Half-Life 2 and Episode 1 that you could give to a friend, as well as deep discounts for preorders.

While it is complete madness over there, there's always some truth in that madness. Again, it's not really about whether or not Left 4 Dead was worth the money or whether or not Left 4 Dead 2 will be a worthy sequel, but rather about whether or not Valve will fulfill their promise of free DLC in one way or another.

Plans change, but they should still do something to fulfill their promise.

To be fair, releasing a fully priced retail game and then releasing a sequel 1 year later just screams of the license whoring reserved for EA's sports franchises.

That is something people forget. That if they want to do much, they need to release a NEW game. If they want to stay on both platforms and have the "same" game. The money is in the console, so we should just be happy as PC gamers that they are going to release ANOTHER game.

Would I prefer a shit ton of new stuff and content on the PC? Yeah, but it isn't a PC exclusive game - so it just doesn't make business sense. Do I hate them for that? Nah. Will I buy the game when it comes out. Hell yea. The amount of time I put in the first one (still play it a few times a week with friends) I am sure I will put even more in the second one.
