The Sniper vs. Spy Update further paves the way for the upcoming Sniper/Spy
update for Team Fortress 2, introducing Jarate, a martial art involving
wizz jars some say was invented by Howard Hughes: "Jarate is a thrown jar that
splashes upon impact. When splashed on enemies, they take 35% more damage for a
period of time. Jumping in water will wash off Jarate. Jarate is also able to
short out Spies’ cloaking devices. When used on teammates, Jarate will
extinguish any fire effects." There's a pisser of a comic accompanying the
update.

I saw someone say online "Urine jar = best FPS weapon" and could have sworn it was going to be a Postal 3 news item.
Anyone know what this replaces?

Should be able to throw them at players carrying your intel to make them drop it all like "EW EW EW EW PISS EW EW EW EW EW!"
They ought to make it so that you have to be looking through your scope to "charge" it. Sound effects would be good.
its just a shame that all the noobs will just goto achievement servers to grab the weapons, its so sad that people cant just play the game and earn them instead of cheating.
Achievements are a waste of time anyway. Battlefield was ruined by persistent ranking.

Actually, Valve knows how much everyone hates how achievements are tied to weapon unlocks. The community has made itself clear that they feel doing that gives an unfair advantage to players who play more than casually. Valve has recently been vocal about finding ways to alleviate the grind. Maybe in this update, everyone will just get the new weapons straight away...?
Actually, unlocks have been untied to achivements. If you look at the blog page where the new achivements for the sniper and spy are listed, you'll see no 'milestone' achivements.
