Battlestations: Pacific Demo Next Week

Square Enix Eidos announces plans to release a single-player demo a week from tomorrow for Battlestations: Pacific, the World War II action/strategy sequel. The demo will be released on April 30 on both the Games For Windows LIVE and Xbox LIVE marketplaces, and here's the outline of what it will offer: "Players will experience one war through two epic sagas, enabling gamers to be a part of history or to dramatically alter it. The full game features an historically accurate US campaign alongside an historically possible Japanese campaign, spanning a total of 28 missions, five new multiplayer modes that can be played with up to eight players and over 100 air, sea and undersea units." The full game is currently expected for Windows and Xbox 360 on May 12 in North America and May 15 in Europe. There's a preview of the demo on GameSpot.

First one was good except you spent the last few missions in the game almost exclusively in the command screen. The command screen is like playing a bad RTS from the early 90's.

I liked the command map, but I hope they designed the sequel so that you're not required to be in it at all times. The game is primarily about the action.

I hope they offer a lot more on the multiplayer side this time. I thought the MP side of the game was going to be great based on the demo for the first game. Sadly the demo map was one of the only maps that combined air, sea, and submarine combat. The whole MP experience was not the same that they demo used...

Which was weird because I thought the demo was great. But they decided, to hell with the demo, let's make the rest of the MP game totally different...
