Braid Patch, Editor Plans

Steam News announces a new patch for Braid is now automatically available, fixing the screenshot function and the speed run achievement, along with a number of graphical glitches. Also, the Steam Users' Forums (thanks Destructoid) have details on how to access the game's internal map editor, and a post along the way from Jonathan Blow explaining plans to fix and enhance the editor going forward:
Yeah, after I get a new version out in a few days that fixes the problems some people are having, and when more people have played/finished the game, I am going to post some documentation for the editor. The way it works is you can make levels with the editor (up to a full game, potentially) and run that with -universe later... also a tool will be released that lets you take Photoshop files and import them into the game, if you want to put new graphics in your levels.

The 360 version was really cool - highly recommended.

Great. I highly recommend it. I also found And Yet It Moves to be a very good game but not as polished as Braid.

This game was a breath of fresh air. It actually required you to think. The inclusion of the map editor is also great. Hopefully modders will come up with some even crazier levels.

On another note, some modders found a way to create Mirror's Edge maps using UnrealEd. Now the only problem is figuring out how to play them..

I'll pick this up, I've been looking at some good puzzlers, plus my wife also likes them so that's a bonus.

Thanks guys.

Any other good puzzle games worth the investment? World of Goo, Crayon Physics?

I second what everyone else has said already: Braid is extremely good, I highly suggest getting it. Also, World of Goo is great too. Crayon Physics is nice but I think it lacks in focus a bit too much to be truly amazing like Braid or World of Goo.

Gish is worth getting. It's also quite difficult. It's another, "complete package" experience like Braid and World of Goo. Awesome art, music, gameplay and plot.

And Yet It Moves is also quite good if not way too short. Might wanna wait for a sale, unless you're cool with ~4 hours of gameplay for $15. I am, but I know that's a tough sell for a lot of people.

Some of the puzzles in Braid are real brain-twisters and pretty devious.

Edit: nevermind

I just d/l the demo. Good game. I was surprised there wasn't setup for a gamepad. I'm using a modified Xbox controller with xpadder to map the controller to the keyboard.

Seconding Braid and World of Goo, both quite unique in the world of games, music, art, etc. Cool experiences. Wife liked World of Goo too, which was a surprise, though she hasn't tried Braid yet. Both run on my gimpy laptop which is a big plus.

Braid has me totally stumped on level 2, which is embarrassing, but it's cool you can traverse the whole game without having to actually beat every level. Cuts down on frustration. Kinda like taking a test, then going back to the ones you couldn't figure out the first time.

It supports the 360 controller, which every PC gamer should own by now.

I never said anything against the keyboard and mouse, which I use for damn near everything, but some games you need a pad for... like Braid.

I don't really see why you'd need a controller for a 2D platformer. Analog sticks are only useful in games where you need variable 3D movement with a wide range of directions. A 3D platformer with fixed camera angles, for example. If you're playing a 2D platformer, you only need two directions and a keyboard is about as precise as you can get.
