Wanted Demo

A playable demo is now available for Wanted: Weapons of Fate, offering a sample of GRIN's just-released third-person shooter movie tie-in. Word is: "The game continues were the movie Wanted left off with hero Wesley Gibson in an entirely new chapter exploring his journey to becoming an unmatched über assassin. Featuring intense third-person action, learn the basic moves in the demo and take combat to the next level with iconic moves -- such as 'Curving Bullets' and 'Assassin Time' -- drawn directly from the film, as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic." The download is available on AtomicGamer, ComputerGames.ro, FanGaming, FilePlanet (registration required), and Gamer's Hell.

Modern game design revolves around looking at the top 10 sellers and then blatantly copying their mechanics.

...and failing to capture the essence(if any) of the original, then crying about it all being the fault of pirates.

I don't know why developers keep making games like this(generic gears clones)

Because GoW sold a lot of copies? Modern game design revolves around looking at the top 10 sellers and then blatantly copying their mechanics.

I played it and it's really boring and generic. I don't know why developers keep making games like this(generic gears clones). The full price tag really hurts too.

Played the demo... actually a fun little game. Not worth $50 by a long shot, but it's got some cool ideas and plays smoothly. I'll grab it when it hits $20 or $30.

Where does this sense you're entitled to everything right now, your way, come from?

For that matter, where are all these dipshit trolls coming from? There's like ten new ones that showed up in the last few days. Did slashdot die or something?

I played the demo. Has that limited gameplay console feel. But at least they made it more pc friendly than other console releases. Easy to navigate menus with mouse, easy to rebind keys and change mouse sensitivity. Easy to change resolutions. However even with 1680x1050 the camera was zoomed in too close in my opinion and you never saw the wide range I would expect to see.

piracy for the win

No, piracy for the losers.

Contribute to piracy and contribute to the demise of the PC platform. If you don't want to pay for it don't buy it or steal it like a lowlife scumbag.

It doesn't really matter how long it took them to develop it, the game just ain't that good (at least from what I got from the short demo). Plenty of other PC games of this type which are much more fun for the money.

Try for yourself if you like and see.

is this game worth 5 hours of my hard earned money? Probably not..piracy for the win.

It's called "don't buy it or play it"... or "wait until it's cheaper." You don't have to steal the fucking thing.

Where does this sense you're entitled to everything right now, your way, come from?

didn't this movie come out like.. 2 years ago?
what tie-in are they looking for? or is there going to be a sequel?

So they actually take their time making the game rather than force a release alongside the movie, and you bash them for it? Fail, my friend.

$50 divided by 5 hours of gameplay equals $10/hour..which is what I make at work, is this game worth 5 hours of my hard earned money? Probably not..piracy for the win.

I played through the demo (tutorial and plane level) and felt a bit ill at the end because of the wobbly freelook. Am I the only one?

Pretty good but not worth a full price tag considering it's barely 5 hours long.

Depends. Do you like killing people in slo-mo after a hard day's work preferably while enjoying an ice cold Miller? I know I do!

Dling now from FilePlanet, going to take about an hour, I'll post my impressions later.

I fear for a game that uses the word "uber" in a press release

It doesn't necessarily mean that the game will be bad - just that their PR department is staffed by 12 year olds, Germans, or a mixture of both.
