Most Wanted was good, but I feel the whole series went downhill after NFS:PU.

SHIFT on the other hand, doesn't seem to fill any current void. We have authentic racing sim with official tracks in GTR, and GRID for a more arcade experience. All SHIFT needs to be is a return to the root: exotic tracks, background info on cars and such, a nice balance between simulation and arcade. I don't see what's so damn hard about it. Just putting any old NFS into a modern engine is good enough for the game to be better than the crap of late NFS.

Why, oh why, can't they go back to having exotic tracks? That was probably my favorite part of the series. Then they decided to ditch that in favor of having one big, generic, urban city. I like the enhanced focus on the actual racing experience in SHIFT but official tracks bore me to tears.

NFS3 was the bomb. I spent countless days downloading new custom cars for it off nfscars.com

I'm actually really excited for this next installment. It looks incredible in motion... dare I say better than GRID.

What's with these names? Is the idea to make all racing games monosyllabic dreck??

Next: NFS Tire and Codemaster's AxLE???

Whichever subtitle NFS 3 was

That'd be the aforementioned Hot Pursuit.

the last good NFS game was Porsche Unleashed.

I really liked Porsche Unleashed also but the last fun NFS game was Most Wanted (for me anyways). After that it all went to crap.

I thought they canned the NFS franchise? They really need to. It was only good in the beginning.

That trailer looks good, almost like GRID. Too bad the Need For Speed branding is actually hurting this game. I will check it out anyways, but no high hopes for NFS games anymore.
