Ya, I've played the Choppa and Slayer. They had them activated on the Public Test Server for a few weeks. They are both fun as hell. Think of them as living buzzsaws. You can specialize them to do quick successive hits, big huge hits, or hit multiple targets at once.

If you thought (or think) that WAR's graphics are bad... it's either a matter of your bad taste or your old video card, sorry. Yes, some MMOs are better looking than others but again it's a matter of taste not poor graphics in my opinion. Kind of like having a WoW player stating that AoC or WAR look bad... but you're saying you still play AO and WARs graphics put you off? That's down right baffling.

Anyway has anyone seen or played the Choppa or Slayer yet?

its the Gamebryo engine, DAoC used a predecessor to that called NetImmerse engine. so in a sense your right, Gamebryo also powers oblivion and fallout however (+ a million other things you wouldnt guess).

This is little off-topic, but I just wanted to tell you about a little gem I found that I think a lot of people might be interested in.

It's a little indie sandbox MMORPG game called LinkRealms, that looks and plays a lot like UO, but has player created and maintaned realms, looks better and the animation is simply great.

It's closed beta right now, but let me tell you, this game is something different.

Not a 3D power house like WAR or Darkfall, but fun as hell and unique in a lot of ways.

It doesn't feel like the Oblivion engine, always felt to me like an upgraded DAoC engine.

i didnt like it, i have to admit, i dont often let visuals put me off games (i still play AO for gods sake), but the 2003 graphics really put me off, that and i found the game play pretty stale.

i think it really hits home when you realise this game was built in the same engine as fallout3. :/

According to Xfire it's still played reasonably frequently, it logs about twice as many hours per day as Age of Conan, but only about one tenth of WoW's numbers.

WOW offers both of those already (in WOW's case, a mount instead of a pet)...

I see it more as trying to be competitive than an act of desperation...

Not a good sign. I like the game world, but the strategic part of the war could use some work. Also the tactical. Okay, the whole thing aside from the backstory, really.
