PC Street Fighter IV in Summer

VideoGamer.com reports the PC edition of Street Fighter IV will be released this summer, though the quote from Capcom is actually a bit vague: "Let's say summer." Christian Svensson of Capcom also tells them they are working on the PC fight stick situation: "We rolled out our Mad Catz sticks and pads, and the interesting thing to note about all of those sticks and pads is they all work with PC as well. We may, and I'm in talks with Mad Catz to figure out how can we actually do some bundles of pads and Street Fighter IV PC."

Yay!. Capcom joins Epic in the "Why the hell are they in the PCGA?" club.

Guess they should have delayed the Xbox360 version, since it's being pirated to hell and will make the PC sales drop when it is finally released.

Idiots!

I am loving this off on the Xbox! Though I am mighty sux at it. The joinable arcade mode is killer, so you are playing even when waiting for a match which is way cool. Needs some kind of multiplayer lobby though, like winner stays on with a spectator mode or just a private lobby. It's annoying having to quit and host a new game when you want to swap partners in your party.

I wonder if lots of console people will pirate this on PC because they feel they already purchased the game once (Along with the hardware)? Delayed (By region or platform) releases is what costs you sales publishers!

The need to put out more of the fight sticks. Demand is through the roof (as evidenced by the Fleabay prices) and playing with either console's standard controllers is painful.

Honestly, SF4's move input is lenient enough that using the analog stick isn't all that bad. Sure, in SF2 HD you are basically required to have an arcade stick, but SF4 seems a lot easier. I was planning to get a stick, or at least the fight pad, but I'm holding off for the moment. Currently using the X360 analog stick.

Everyone is having problems with it. Some people are resorting to opening it up and actually removing pieces to make it work. It's pure shit.

The $150 stick uses Japanese arcade parts, but they put those parts into a cheap shell. It doesn't feel like $150.

In other words, stay away from these sticks.

If you want a cheap, usable stick for the PC version of SF4, consider a Mayflash USB Fighting Stick or a PS3 Hori Fighting Stick 3. Both can be had for $40 - $50 shipped.

If you are going to take this stuff seriously, you really need one (A good stick, custom if you are rich or clever enough). The 360's analogue is fine for inputs being so nice and smooth, but the buttons on a pad, any pad, just do no cut it for the combos you need to pull off in anything other than casual play.

This is just one of my current excuses for my sub 30% ranked wins.

Also, wait off on the fightpad as well, lots of complaints out there.

Looks like there is money to be made by someone who can put out a decent fighting game controller.

Not having an arcade gaming background I prefer a joypad to a joystick for fighting games. I'm guessing this is due to the dexterity I have in my fingers and my history in consoles, but I'm wondering if anyone else prefers a joypad? I can't be the only odd one here.

I'll admit though, Dhalsim's Yoga Teleport was a bastard to pull off on a joypad.

I'll have a reason to break out the X-Arcade again, since they have neither a PS3 nor 360 adapter yet. the PS3 one CAN be done using multiple adapters but I'm not paying for all that when it'll work with the PC already.

I'm building my own, but even the arcade machine parts suppliers are hammered by the demand right now.

I'm never going to be good enough to warrant the $150 stick. While using it on the PC makes it a very great temptation, I don't think I'd get my money's worth out of it. Still sorely tempted, though. Especially at importing a stick from Japan, since didn't Hori have the rights there?

Was going to buy the Hori EX2 for 360 (I want a headset port if I'm playing it on the 360) but they were sold out everywhere nearby.

Every place and vendor is just back ordered when it comes to anything related to fighting sticks. Looks like everyone underestimated the demand for these things.

I was leaning toward the topline Mad Catz TE stick, but mixed reports (about the vendor's track record, not the stick itself) and complaints here persuaded to look elsewhere. I just placed an order for Arcade in a Box. Now I have to wait till they ship mine in about two months. But at least I won't have to face any uncertainty or pay Fleabay prices.

If you buy the EX2, I would recommend opening it up and putting some sort of wedge between the bottom plate and the PCB that's connected to the A and B. It isn't anchored to anything and it floats around and causes the buttons to stick if it isn't held in place with something. I used a tightly folded piece of paper held in place by plain old scotch tape and it works perfectly now.
