I guess I'm just getting old maybe. It might just be too quick for me now. Maybe tomorrow on a couple cups of coffee I'll have another go. Maybe just need some practice... I don't remember that zoom thing though. Is that new?
Will be interesting to see if this strong initial interest will die off quickly or not. Quake95 (for windows 3.1) was my very first fps shooter experience (and then Quake2), and therefore has some nastalgic value for me, however since 1998 the UT series has always been a much better game for this genre. This is a web-based version of Quake 3 (as the headline says), not the original Quake. It's not quite as nostalgic as it might appear, since a lot of people are still playing Quake 3 today. According to Gamespy, there are 5k players, which is more than America's Army and UT2004.
While I'll be spending the time to download this (80% due to the fact that its free, 10% nastalgia, 10% curiousity) I cant help but wonder what all the hub-bub is about in getting to play a 13 year old game because personally speaking I think that once the nastalgia thing wears off (within a week for me i think) itll be right back to UT and Arma, heh.
People are all excited about it now but when you play it and realize the tired graphics and the tired gameplay they will stop playing it because the nostaliga will have worn off.
