If you didn't like RE4...I just don't think we'll agree. You're right that its a little gimped but I still think its fun.

I can't believe there's even an argument here.

I have completed every RE up to Code Veronica, and when I played RE4, I dropped it like a hot potato. RE5 didn't fare much better, as I was completely appalled.
Forget it. I expect some improvement after however many iterations.

I have to bend down to pick shit up? How fast does he do that animation? It looks ridiculous.
A man with 22" arms shouldn't have an issue walking and firing his pistol. Does he chew gum while walking or what?

I don't care what the game is designed to be. Even MGS4 accepted a proper control scheme, provided intense gameplay, and it wasn't limiting me with idiotic bullshit strategies best left to kiddies learning how to build their first game.

I mean I'm legitimately pissed off just thinking that this fucking company has released this game and is now trying to explain away their moronic shortcomings. I wish I could make money doing that.
Releasing fucking crap that LOOKED good and then telling my clients and their users in a press release that it's for the experience. It's all part of the experience.

No, the experience fucking sucks. Simple as that. I play this magnificent mans man who can't shoot while walking, nevermind running. He can't just punch, he can't just jump, he can't just do fucking anything.
The more I type and think about this the more pissed off I get!

You want to talk about an experience? Let's look at RE4 and the fact that Leon would cut through chains on doors with his fucking knife.
Why can't Chris walk and shoot?

I downloaded this game twice! Once to try it out. It was fucking dumb.
I downloaded it the second time and the co-op was fucking retarded, and pointless, and I was playing it with a friend who had wrapped RE4!

Goodbye Capcom. I'll be playing L4D. Let me know when your reality cheque arrives. For now, I'd say that account is in overdraft.

I like being able to do a 180 turn with a button+joy combo press. Do you mean you want some other way to do a quick 180 turn, like a double tap of the joystick?

I'm surprised so few other games have implemented a "quick 180 turn" function. Console versions of Gears of War, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six could all use the feature. Halo and Killzone 2 could use it too.

I like the controls. It makes the game more tactical and favors careful aiming over strafe spamming. Just because you can get headshots while strafe jumping around in most games doesn't mean its the only or best way to play a game.

Not saying its perfect though. Things that stick out to me are that you still have to press a button to turn around and there's no dodge move, although that might make it too easy.

Agreed. It boggles the mind that something so key can be so bad - particularly from such a large property as RE.

I tried the RE5 demo and wasn't very impressed. The graphics were impressive but the controls were a big stumbling block. Playing the game is frustrating and I have no desire to play it again.
