Keep dreaming, buddy. Nevermind that the UN was involved in the Bosnia conflict, not the fucking Freedom Brigade assembled by Bush.

oh that's right it was just the UN Security Council that unanimously passed resolutions that lead up to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Yep... No UN involvement...

Oh? Please explain.

You listed Powell and Rice as suitable alternatives for Obama, joking throw in James Earl Jones, and then you said "It's not a race thing"?

Just because people feel that with the economy being down they can't afford to splurge on a new car, doesn't mean they stop going to work.

Also, you'll note that you said that LAST MONTH was the worst car sales month in 20 years, but gas (and oil) has been falling in price for three to four straight months. So, oil companies predicted the bad car sales two months ahead of time and decided to lower prices prematurely?

You're failing to look at the bigger picture again. Car sales have been down, last month was just a noticeable low point.

And people HAVE stopped driving, even to work! Public transportation use is on the rise!!!! GAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

IMO, this is the land of opportunity; if some woman works her ass off and earns her way into a $2,000,000 a year salary, the all the power to her. There's no reason that some POS living in the ghetto DESERVES a piece of that pie.

the line of thinking is that people who make 200k a year salary have a lot of opportunity to take advantage of govt tax breaks. those who barely make it have no other opportunity. take for example the break in capital gains tax. do you think that a person making 40k a year will be able to invest in stocks like the ones making 200k a year? people think that giving tax breaks to the poor is socialism but when its the rich who get tax break its capitalism.

Exactly what name was he calling Obama?

i was using that as an example because he was judging someone before he knew the person.

Then I guess you really have a talent for trying to say one thing and mean something completely different. Nobody was calling him names.

I wish Colin Powell or Condi Rice had run (for example) on the R ticket, as I would have gladly voted for them. It's not a race thing, it is an experience thing.

thats bull crap. if it wasnt a race thing then why did you use two other black people as an alternative to get your vote? lol.

Are you really this dense?

It could be worse. It could be Sarah Palin ... "What do you mean we're not at war with Iran? We should be! Bomb them anyway! Now where's my moose gun!"

The image of Sarah Palin hanging out of a chopper with a moose gun over Teheran firing at screaming civilians is somehow strangely... amusing.

And your argument doesn't take into account what I cited: Last month marked the worst sales in 20 years in the auto industry. If Americans are spending less money on cars you can be damn sure they'll be spending less on gas.

That's a conclusion based on false examination. Who buys a new car? Usually a person who already HAS a car, and is trading it in. If they don't buy NEW cars, they're still driving their OLD cars.

Not really! The people that cried wolf and the last election won this time, guess there is no dirty tricks needed. Like holding our military votes back because most vote for the right? ya, I think it is for the lose! Obama might turn out alright if he takes advice though, I sure hope he doesn't do what he as said he was going to do !:( Russia is already trying us and arabs are already starting to toss rockets over to Israel again. You guys will see what he is made of now. God speed, because we need it!

It's truly amazing and sad that Prop8 passed.

Now California is one of those states. So sad.

Looks like the high-speed rail bond is also passing. Which is great for jobs and adds another mass-transit option (if it ever gets built), but I don't think the state can afford it right now. I think we have (and continue to) bond ourselves into fiscal oblivion. And I am still not sure how they will be able to structure ticket prices to get enough butts in the seats to pay for it while maintaining the benefit of "high speed". Unless of course they try to cram you in like airplane seating, in which case you are better off taking a plane anyways.

I for one like to support those who have little power simply because they deserve to have what the priviledged few take for granted.
IMO, this is the land of opportunity; if some woman works her ass off and earns her way into a $2,000,000 a year salary, the all the power to her. There's no reason that some POS living in the ghetto DESERVES a piece of that pie. I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed, but it's easier for an underprivileged person to excel in this country than someone from the middle class.

"Want free college? Here you go." "Want help buying a house? Here you go." "Want more money because your 'baby daddy' not around? Here you go."

I come from a lower middle class background and have busted my ass and put myself through college (which I paid for myself). I have achieved financial security by living within my means and relying on myself; something many people have a hard time with. I'll be damned that when I start making a 6 figure income, I will be required to give some of that to a schlub only looking for a handout.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about helping people (I HIGHLY applaud those that work their way out of poverty); it's those people not willing to help themselves that boil my blood.
