Gold - WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger

Lighthouse Interactive announces the completion of development of WWII Battle Tanks: T-34 vs. Tiger, saying that G5 Software's World War II armored combat simulation is due in European stores on October 24, at which time it will also be available for digital purchase via sites like GamersGate.com and TotalGaming.net. The announcement is accompanied by some new screenshots, and here's a bit on the game: "Players will experience the power of some of the most advanced tank weaponry of its time, as they battle the enemy head on during critical World War 2 campaigns. Its historically accurate representations of environments and vehicles (interiors and exteriors), realistic physics, and Internet and LAN multiplayer gameplay for up to sixteen players, promises to engage simulation fans in true-to-life tank warfare."

Chalk me up as another potential buyer if there is a demo. Its sad so many games don't have one, because at the right price point, bought online with a decent demo, this could be a decent seller for people like me addicted to Company Of heroes.

Sounds interesting to me. I like the over-the-top arcade-like laughs from driving tanks in BF42 but I've enjoyed sub, ship and air sims in the past. Plus it'll give me an excuse to try out Impulse and maybe pick up GalCiv while I'm at it.

Try Red Orchestra on Steam. It has infantry and tanks maps that support up to 50 players and new maps quite frequently. It is a 'realistic' multi-player eastern front game that has a bit of a learning curve, but fun to play.

I want to try this - I feel like I would like a WW2 tank simulator, but I have never tried one so I don't know for sure - the genre is almost dead, and there are so few of them out there..

Are there any infantry in the game? Or is it just tanks?
What about aircraft? Other vehicles (trucks etc.)

I remember playing a WW2 naval simulator (Great Naval Battles: North Atlantic 1942:45? Something like that..) when I was younger, and that was pretty interesting.

The engine it uses DOES support AA, not sure why they have it off for these PR shots... kind of strange.

Eastern Euro developers..don't quite understand marketing or presentation.

Looks like a decent game.

This game will most likely sell terribly. Why do I say that? If a tank sim nut like myself has never heard of this before, I can't imagine that the game had anywhere near an effective marketing campaign.

Still, those screenshots peaked my interest instantly. I definitely will try the demo if there is one.

Been waiting for this for ages. Interesting that TotalGaming.net is included in the press release, seeing as how Stardock is trying to shut that down in favor of Impulse. But hey, I'm not complaining, I still have 7 tokens on TG that need to be used, and this is perfect!

The T-34 was my favorite to use in their T-72 game, so I couldn't have asked for a better game to use the engine.

Is there no anti-aliasing in this game? The jaggies are nasty.
