I already had 3 of them installed but I un-installed them and then re-downloaded them because my versions were out of date. When you install the mods from Steam it doesn't put them in your mods folder and you have more options available from the Steam menu such as backing up and un-installing. I'm hoping mods installed this way will auto update as well, one of the problems I had with some of them was finding some servers were not on the same version as me.

That depends on what you're looking for. Do you want single player or multi player?

As far as these go, Synergy is great if you like MP coop. Zombie Panic was fun last time I played it, it's kind of like a team DM, except one person begins as the infected and has to infect the humans. Insurgency is also good if you like realistic modern combat, but it's still just team death match. I played AoC way back when it was beta, it was fun, but had kind of frustrating controls. I reinstalled it, but haven't played it.

As for other mods I recently started going through and deleting mods that were installed that I wasn't playing and ended up playing a lot of them again. I'm having a blast with the mods based on SMOD, particularly SMOD Tactical and SMOD CSS SCI FI.

Already had this on my Steram game-list
This Metalstorm-type car battle mod had a lot of good things going for it and I enjoyed playing it on-line.

I'll check it out again this week-end to see if there's more action

I've never seen this one before. I've been playing HL2 coop with a friend using the Obsidian Conflict mod. I looked through the docs for Synergy and it looks like it adds some cool features if you're playing coop with lots of people.
