Prince of Persia in December

Ubisoft announces that Prince of Persia will ship on December 2 for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, offering the latest installment in the long-running (and jumping) series that began with a game of the same name. Word is: "Prince of Persia opens an entirely new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe in addition to introducing a fresh Illustrative art style, evolved combat system, open world structure and dynamic AI – most notably in the form of the Prince's powerful ally Elika." Ubisoft also announces that Prince of Persia: The Fallen King for the DS will ship on that date as well.

I'm not thrilled with the new art direction. I'm hoping it will look better in person than it is in the gameplay movies. But story is king, and after that, gameplay, so I'm hoping this Elika thing will be solid and that will keep me happy.

I can't believe they're pumping these out so fast; they only gave pre-alpha sneak peeks, like what, 8 months ago?

Are you talking about the DS game or are you just crazy? The PC one looks fucking breathtaking and the combat seemed fine to me. Go watch a video of it. If anything it seems like more of a return to Sands of Time than I expected. I don't mind some combat sequences as long as they retain the puzzles as well.

Playing: Dead Space Remake, Chained Echoes, Hi-Fi Rush
Watching: Superstore, The Last of Us, Love Death & Robots

I can't believe the game looks so bad, particularly as the previous ones were great and the Assassin's Creed engine they're using was stunning (visually and performance wise). It also looks like they're moving further away from the great game that was Sands Of Time and more towards games like Soul Calibur.

No thanks.
