Creative Sound Card Blaster now offers a new version 1.2.0.4 of ALchemy for
various sound cards under Windows Vista, though this new version is not on the
separate ALchemy
page (thanks Thinus). For the unfamiliar, here's what Alchemy provides: "the
Creative ALchemy Project allows you to run your favorite DirectSound3D games on
Windows Vista as the developers intended - with full hardware accelerated 3D
Audio and EAX support."
Neither a or b since I've never been able to successfully load up Creative's drivers and have had to use third party drivers. Since I have the Audigy 2 platinum and use the LiveDrive daily I have no interest in buying another $100+ sound card for zero performance increase. It's just annoying to have to jump through all the hoops just to get it running.
