More Mass Effect DLC Possible

MTV Multiplayer has word from their conversation with BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk on the possibility that more downloadable content is coming for Mass Effect, the science-fiction RPG. Dr. Greg is guarded, but seems optimistic:
We’re talking about that. You know how we are. We’re always very circumspect until we can go “Aha! There it is!” With everything we build now, we want to have this long-term relationship with the customer and always have something for them to try. So we’re definitely looking at that for “Mass Effect.”

I was under the impression that several DLCs were planned?

I liked bring down the sky, it was definitely worth its money. Would definitely get other DLCs.

This is laughable.
Hardly news. Let me know when they release it.

I can always depend on Blue.
Thanks, Blue.

I think everyone was under that impression. The blitz over "Bring Down the Sky" included many instance of "Our FIRST DLC for Mass Effect!" and "First of lawlmany!"

Bring Down the Sky was not worth the money for me, and I'll take a wild guess that a lot of people felt the same. It's not even the cost that was the major problem, they just made a massively big deal over OH MY GOD DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT FOR OUR RPG THAT WILL BE DOWNLOADED AND PLAYED AFTER DOWNLOADING that an overly long sidequest, even though it was nicely done, just couldn't live up to the hype.

Of course, since I whored out for the PC port after beating the console version, s'not like I paid for it anyway, so despite my dislike of the hype, I was satisfied. Obligatory PC Gaming Fanboy Moment: And I also got cleaner visuals/no texture pop-ups/reasonable elevator on the Normandy/Anti-aliasing for the love of GOD XBox 360 would removing some jaggies kill you?

I think instead of of more content, Mass Effect needs to add more copy protection. Maybe they could make it where I have to submit a DNA sample just to load a save file!

Thanks Bioware and EA!

Is that scarcasim I detect nin?

I will second that if I paid for BDtS on 360 I would have felt horably jipped. Pay for an extra mission that took what... 30-45 min to beat, if that.

Im getting really tired of this nickle and dime BS that gaming companies are doing with downlaodable content now a days. But it is probably because im a long term PC gamer that expects this stuff for free (or user generated content) and not a mindless console user that just bends over and takes it.

mass effect pc is so buggy it makes stalker look normal. it is incredibly buggy, from small text bugs to large game-ruining bugs. the design of the entire game is flawed through and through. which is terrible given how excellent the good parts of the game are.

I trust they have a better handle on things for the next game...

loomy~

I will second this. Many times I have had the game stop when I get in a elevator. Not lock, the character animations still play, I can get to the menus, the doors just don't close and move. Fall through the map: This happens alot, mostly in the Mako. One time I got in the Mako and was launched inside a building (at the two barricades on the planet where you save Liara T'Soni).

Each time I had to quit out and restart from last save. It actually seams to have gotten worse sinse the BDtS patch.

It's more my disgust with EA and the way they treat their paying customers, and the fact that Bioware so quickly fell in line with that, after hopping in the sack with them and taking it up the ass.

I used to have a tremendous amount of respect for Bioware, but the way they totally rolled over and embraced the company philosophy of excessive copy protection is disgusting...they should be ashamed of themselves.

edit: But from what I've seen of Dragon Age, I don't think I'll be missing much...

Now what would be ideal is if Bioware released to tools so we could make our own mods ... ala NWN. Mass Effect could live as being one of the real GREAT games then.

Wish they'd spent another year making a complete, more fleshed out game in the first place. Mass Effect was a bummer in my opinion. Short, narrow, and small are the words that come to mind to describe it. (lol)
