I'm not going to call you stupid but you're BOTH over simplifying this concept but I want YOU to especially think about this since because you seem so passionate about your version of reality and your point of view that you resorted to a personal attack against this guy and called him stupid and a criminal without adding anything. Now realize this:

1: the game you bought has DRM on it.
2: A pirated version downloaded from the internet doesn't have DRM on it.

Now, WHO has to put up with DRM? Who exactly is being treated like a pirate/criminal? The person who downloads software over the internet without paying for it or the customer who bought their software? (Hint: which copy of the software will have DRM on it?)

DRM that works isn't bad. but it doesn't always work. Activation like Mass Effect may be the best DRM ever. I gurantee you can install it once, just don't fuck that up. If only then the publisher would remove the activation requirement in 12 months. what self respecting pirate would brag about his illegal copy of quake 2? New things are the best deterrent to piracy

PS: Did you know certain DRM schemes don't like it when you have a SATA optical drive and an IDE optical drive in the same system? No? That apparently is my problem with Gears of War. Ejecting the disc and putting it back in sometimes helps. DRM causes problems.
