Spawn camping is so 1990's. I thought games have evolved beyond that?

Evolved beyond what? Spawning? Removing spawning is the only way to remove spawn camping.

It is a great game and there is no spawn killing, you can move away when you spawn, don't be newb ;).

The game is rather for the hardcore however.

I've played the game quite a bit, though I got bored of it after a few months. But it's a fun game overall, I recommend anyone who's curious give it a shot.

I agree that the extended periods of absolute slaughter are the biggest drawback of the game. For those of you who haven't played it, it has elements of base building, resource gathering, and upgrade research much like an RTS game. Which is what makes the game interesting, but it also means that if you get behind in tech or money, you're at a huge disadvantage.

It's a problem, but I wouldn't say it's quite as bad as the other posters think. Usually the unbalanced slaughter lasts for quarter of the match. Though if the other side is determined to toy with you it can be drawn out to over half the match. Or if one side wins with a coordinated rush you might skip the attrition portion all together.

Downloaded it last time, installed, tried the tutorial. Too laggy, I just lagged jumped around - completely unplayable. Joined a server, was much better but had no idea what was going on as I couldn't get the tutorial to work (why did it not run locally???).

My fantastic experience with this game was:

After ages downloading, then installing, and getting into a game - spawn killed Frosty. Then spawn killed Frosty. Then spawn killed Frosty. Spawn killed Frosty again, in fact I spawn killed Frosty about eight times in a row before I thought - "Nooo, not for me."

Uninstalled.

Good luck bothering with this one.

***************

True story, every game I joined was simply one team slaughtering the other one, usually by getting the upper hand quickly and then spawn killing over and over and over again. Then people that were getting spawn killed got pissed, and then switched to the other team to join the spawn killing...therefore turning into a self fulfilling prophecy and making it even worse.

That being said, this game is AWESOME if there are 2 sides in a pitched battle with everyone doing what they can do to win. But, this was almost never, maybe 1 out of 15 games. The rest were just slaughter fests that got boring quickly no matter which side you were on.
