seeing as it is the exclusive titles that define a system, I think that is what matters most in the end and Sony definitely came out on top in that regard.

I don't know. Not that I sway in any consoles direction as I now own none (damn you college books!) but I think Nintendo has the most solid exclusives especially from first party developers i.e. they won't be jumping ship. But that is entirely debatable.

I think the days of the video game reporters giving impressions are coming to an end and we'll be getting official company presentations via video clips.

I don't know, that sorta makes me uncomfortable. Watching an official company video of a game is not analogous to actually playing it or having involved Q&A's with active probing/criticism there and offering an objective, outside analysis out of it. There are many playable demo builds at these shows, besides all the announcements and hands-off presentations. I think there needs to be people actively there, witnessing things first-hand to keep that hype machine in check because let's face it, most developers tend to not speak badly of their own products.

So the 360 is also getting FF XIII? *shrugs*. Sony has the best lineup of 2008 exclusives. And seeing as it is the exclusive titles that define a system, I think that is what matters most in the end and Sony definitely came out on top in that regard.

I'm not sure exactly when it happened but today game companies can load huge video files that present their games in exactly the way they intend rather than trying to impress the press by doing these closed door screenings and presentations at e3.

I remember wanting to go to E3 very badly and then a few years ago there was so much online content to look at I just didn't care that I missed the actual event. And today I feel like I'm getting a better view of the games from websites likes Gametrailers than I ever did going through the actual show.

It's nice to have all this content shown at one time instead of each company releasing it whenver they like (if there was no E3, or official date for everyone to be ready) but I'm not sure how much longer they will even need to have a physical gathering for E3. All these presentations can be done from their corporate headquarters and broadcast all over the internet so it's got to be just a matter of time before someone says, "Why are we spending all that money when we can do it right here?!"

I think the days of the video game reporters giving impressions are coming to an end and we'll be getting official company presentations via video clips.

Bring back booth babes ftw! Now E3 is just 5000 nerds wandering around aimlessly.

Well...They're looking for booth babes...

From the article:

Of the three major console manufacturers, Microsoft probably gave its fans the most to look forward to. Sony was a close second, but Nintendo delivered a lackluster presentation that left a lot of observers scratching their heads.

And from that we get the headline "Nintendo, Microsoft stumble while Sony cruises"

Proofreading anyone?

I thought it was Sony and Nintendo that flopped at E3 while Microsoft offered things their fans cared about. Also, E3 is a mere shadow of its former self.
