Well, I hit the big 40 yesterday. It's really pretty bizarre how time flies. I don't even know where the last decade went.
Was out for dinner and drinks with friends, good times had by all. went to Jacobs & Co. for dins. It's the new high end steak house in town. Shared a skirt steak and flat iron steak with my bud. Whilst the flat iron steak was really good, the skirt steak was probably the tastiest piece of meat I've ever eaten. 46 day old aged Waygu beef or some such thing. It was like buttah! I can't get over how good it was.
Had several interesting sides and apps, including a tenderloin carpaccio drizzled wih a garlic mustard and reggiano shavings that was insanely good. And all this was accompianed by some fine wine, including a 2000 Chateaux Margaux that was pure velvet. Mmm, good times.
"He was one of a kind. He was a mutant. A real heavyweight water buffalo type...who could chew his way through a concrete wall and spit out the other side, covered with lime and chalk, and look good in doing it." - Bill Murray as Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
"You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life."
