Warcraft III Patches [Jul 01, 2008, 09:56 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Blizzard Support announces the availability of new Warcraft III patches,
updating Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne to
version 1.22. The game's can be updated automatically via Battle.net, or there
are instructions on how to manually update if this is problematic. In addition
to game fixes and updates the new patches include new maps.
Forgot to mention....I picked up the LAST copy on the shelf at my local BB of the Diablo Battle Chest.
The cashier and I had a good laugh when she asked for my id to verify my age (the POS asked for it). When I got home, I was thinking about it, and smack dab on all the discs is the "Rated M". I hadn't even given it a thought in the past - but it fits the mold for an M game....but it has sold over 10 Million copies within the franchise....

I just tried the Blizzard Downloader myself, and I noticed something cool. I only have Starcraft, but the Accounts page registered it as "Starcraft Anthology", and the download gave me Brood War for free! All my other keys (Warcraft 3 + Exp, Diablo 2 + Exp) registered normally. I wonder why they combined Starcraft into a single download but not the other games with expansions? According to the "Add a New Game" screen, regular Brood War keys aren't supported.
Brood War didn't have its own cd-keys. You just needed to have the original SC installed. Consider it a free gift from Blizz?
Another stupid question: It's safe to delete off the install folders once the install is done right? IE there's no reason the game should need them (once the full game is installed)?
Nope. You need to keep the folders just like if you own the CDs you need to whack off on them in regular intervals. Obviously with the folders it's more convenient since you just need to whack off looking at the folders instead of actually whacking off onto them. Cool, huh?

look at how Blizzard treats their fan base and take notes.Would that be a note to create the most profitable computer game in history, thus enabling you to support your older games without your bank balance even noticing?
According to the "Add a New Game" screen, regular Brood War keys aren't supported.The Anthology version of Brood War didn't come with a key, therefore making it impossible to offer it on a key-by-key basis. I guess Blizzard just thought 'hell, the game is 10 years old and practically unplayable online without Brood War - we might as well give it away'.

This is all wrong! Warcraft 3 was heavily pirated! Blizzard should be developing for consoles while whining how piracy killed them!

I gotta be honest and say that this late in the game, I think both battlechests (Diablo2 and SC) should be $20 each...but it's Blizzard, and we know they're working on some badass stuff, so I guess I'm going to let that slide.

I have enough certs to make it free, and I wanted the BattleChest, since I can't find D1 or D2.....and haven't played the expansion. Also have a 10 or 12% coupon, so tax is nill.
And it is on the way home, so only adds 5 minutes to my commute. All in all, 3 games + the goodies is worth it.
/guess I am not cutting back on games yet....although....this can be categorized as "replacement cost".

Gonna grab mine on the way home. Had some BB certs left over....try and get them down to 30.00 instead of 40.
I could find keys for both Starcraft cds, Warcraft 3, and the D2 expansion, but not the original D2. So I just dropped $20 for it, and it shows up in the list with the rest of my games.
The only downside is it uses the shitty Blizzard downloader, BUT I'm getting anywhere from 500-650K a second from them directly (IE not p2p).
Overall, pretty cool...
