has anyone played this?

I played it, it's pretty good. *for an Indie game*

I'm not sure how long you've been gaming, but there was an old classic RPG called "Darklands", kind of an open ended world where you explore with an overland map, have text dialogue options with a number of people, and then go to battle in a different graphical perspective. If I had to compare Mount and Blade to any game, it would be Darklands.

The combat is this game's prime attractor, and it is somewhat interesting. It combines infantry and mounted cavalry combat, sometimes on a very large scale. I guess the only dissapointing point is that it gets very repititious very quickly. Also, if you know what you are doing, you can easily single handedly destroy a force of 30+ people by doing "drive-bys" on your horse.

Altogether it's an interesting premise, and worth checking out if you want to kill a few hours, just as long as you take it for what it is.

P.S. This game is the new Bloodlines aka "Patch post every other day"
