I'm sorry but do you not see the irony/hypocrisy of suggesting that someone is immature and then calling him a geek on a computer game news comment board..?

Levels like Assault and the following tank-based level in Crysis are among the most "game-like" levels - and most incredible levels - in any game released in 2007.

Assault was awesome, but that tank level pissed me the fuck off. Wow, that's so much fun, driving around in your tank when there's 92,847 Koreans hidden in bushes, every single one of them with unlimited rockets for their rocket launchers! And they're also immune to any type of weapon you have, since you can fire your 120mm shells at them that will explode 4 feet away, and they'll just keep firing.

So yeah, that was definitely the high point of gaming in 2007...

You must have missed the entire point of that level - what makes it so great - is that you have the freedom to leave the tank at any time. I was playing the game on Delta difficulty and I only died a couple times total in that area. Once I left the tank, started planting C4 on opposing tanks while cloaking myself, taking down soldiers with rocket launchers and using those rocket launchers on other tanks, etc. it was a breeze.

What, you tried playing the game as a straight-up FPS and forgot you had the freedom to play it however you wanted to?

I'll have to see this seemless loading of 50km^2 to believe it.

If they can stream GTA to a 32mb console from a crappy DVD drive (PS2), they can stream Farcry 2 to a PC that's equipped with a SATA II hard disk, I'm thinking.

It was a quality game too bad if you didn't like it many did. You must be one of those geeks that think every FPS should reinvent the wheel.. that's bullshit! Nothing wrong with making a good action packed game that keeps the player entertained even if we have all been there and done that.

Crysis is what a true PC FPS should be

seriously, fuck off. that is a direct insult to all FPS that have done something innovative or at least INTERESTING.

and you are willing to admit crytek is lying about the piracy situation, yet you continue to support them.

I'm really pissed off at Crytek for their whining and lying about piracy. I want them to continue to make great PC games like Far Cry and Crysis, but if they are going to continue to hold future patches and sequels hostage because they care more about spiting pirates than supporting their own customers then they can piss off.

God, I've never seen as many whiny bitches gathered in one place as I have at blues news

Hey they don't call this place BLUESnews for nothing... 99% are whiners and complainers.

As far as Warhead goes I'm all over it, I loved Crysis and more of the same is fine for me! Plus it will be refined with better AI and better performance. I'm also looking forward to Far Cry 2 of course but just wait, since it's being released on consoles as well they'll all be bitching that it's a dumbed down console port you can bank on it!

Crysis is what a true PC FPS should be and I hope Warhead sells enough to continue the series, it would be a shame if it dies here. As far as the post about Crysis being pirated 15 to 1 thats waaaaay overblown. Crysis sold 1.5 million (according to this month's PC Gamer) that would mean that it was pirated 22,500,000 times! HAHAHAHAHA Crytech has to stop whining to and be happy with the sales they did get. I wouldn't consider 1.5 million sales poor in the least bit.

Farcry patch support terminated before a long awaited promised patch was to be released. Crysis patch support terminated before a long awaited promised patch was released.

Yeah I'm going to be all over Crysis Warhead, the dev just gives me warm fuzzy feeling all over.

I kinda consider Warhead to be Crytek's chance to get it right. They acknowledged there were problems with Crysis, now they can fix them and maybe give us the game we wanted the first time around. Fortunately they seem to have a pretty solid, if a bit demanding engine, so hopefully they can focus more on gameplay this time around and give it the attention required. Unless this starts looking like a regressive title the closer we get to release date, I'll probably pick it up too.

Also looking forward to Far Cry 2, though I have to agree with other comments here that it sounds like yet another tech demo. Months to wait still, so we'll see.

I enjoyed Crysis, and the MP is good. Sad they didn't follow up with the balance issues, but I'd probably pick up warhead just the same. There's negativism towards Crysis that's mostly unfounded. Prior to the release of the 8800GT, Crysis was only playable at medium settings (yes at medium, not low, medium). But I'd guess from looking at the sales of those new modern cards, most FPS players can play at high now. Point is, its not that bad, and never was, as what everyone makes it out to be, but jumping on the hate wagon is THE thing to do these days.

It doesn't look that bad but really not all that different from Crysis - minus the palm trees, the flame effects look neat. They don't have the character animation down like Crysis, still very stiff looking in Far Cry 2. I'll have to see this seemless loading of 50km^2 to believe it.

God, I've never seen as many whiny bitches gathered in one place as I have at blues news. Crysis is a tech demo but Far Cry 2 is not? All Far Cry 2 seems to be is a big sandbox demonstrating their AI and graphics technology. I'm sure there's a great game behind it, but according to the trailers and 20-minute movies they've released so far. Give me a break - how jaded do you have to be to make such ridiculous accusations?

Levels like Assault and the following tank-based level in Crysis are among the most "game-like" levels - and most incredible levels - in any game released in 2007. It's like an open-ended Call of Duty 4 - shit going on everywhere, all-out-war going on, but with the openness to take out your objective however you want on an absolutely gigantic battlefield.

The trailer sure does look like more of the same - but with IGN saying that the "sameness" will be like the level Assault I just described - lots more action going on everywhere, an open-ended Call of Duty - I can't freaking wait.

Plus, the scenario of the alien bursting through a frozen-over lake seems extremely promising. Shawn Elliot from 1UP has talked about what Crytek promised for Crysis in the ice levels - dynamic cover using the ice, frozen-over lakes, etc. - but they couldn't do it yet due to the technology. If they pull it off in Warhead I'd be very happy.

At the same time, I also can't wait to play Clear Sky - STALKER was another one of my favorites of 2007 - and Far Cry 2. Every one of these three games looks equally promising, and as a PC shooter fan, 2008 looks like it'll be one of the best years in a very long time.

Far Cry 2 seems to be a GAME, where you can PLAY something!

Cry(ohmygodpiratesarestealingmyprofits)tek just makes tech demos and adds some incoherent gameplay features and story fragments afterwards, so that you can sell and market it as a "game".
