True. However, in much the same way Hollywood studios, writers, artists, musicians
choose their genre and source material, so too do game developers, designers and publishers. Its about choice. Just because the industry chooses not to address a certain mature theme doesn't make the PC gaming industry any less mature. Its a matter of choice. Its no different from Valve not doing space sims or Epic not doing flight sims.
