Ignoring the piracy discussion, I'd like to put the system requirements myth about Crysis to bed if at all possible.
Crysis is perfectly playable on medium settings with modest hardware. My definition of 'modest' is a AMD X2 3800, 2 GB ram, and an ATI HD3850, which can be had for <$150 on Pricewatch. My definition of "perfectly playable" would be >20 FPS at all times, with the possible exception of the occasional dip during the most hectic scenes. This is on 1680x1050 resolution, so you can do even better with lower resolutions. And the game still looks great. Just forget that there is a "high" graphics setting for the next 2 years and you'll be fine. In 2 years, when you have new hardware, you'll play it again on high and marvel at how "new" the game looks for a 3 year old title.
