Out of the Blue

I have connection woes again today. That makes three times in the past few weeks, following a stretch of years with nary a hiccup.

Note to Verizon. Your phone support is the worst, and it's on the verge of costing you my business. This isn't really the place to communicate this, but when I tried to tell your phone rep, she couldn't understand me.

The whole reason for it being a consensus in the first place is due to wide agreement on the interpretation of the evidence. Credible scientists aren't blindly calling it valid and using the consensus as evidence. The only real debatable aspect of the whole thing is how much humans are involved in the cause, and whether we can do anything about it, or if it's a natural process that we are simply along for the ride, and if that's the case we shouldn't be so eager to potentially risk big economic problems for something that we have no clue we can even change.

Anyone who looks at our government and decides that they are the only ones who should have access to firearms should have their heads examined. Keep in mind that in many cities and even small towns, the police ARE the gangsters.

Research carefully before touting any 'success' shown by the british taking away their citizens right to bear arms. Murder rate isn't everything.

And the Michael Mann/IPCC "hockey stick" is wholly accepted as valid science by everyone, even though many IPCC data collection points have location issues that call into question the validity of their measurements, and thus completely invalidate the tree ring assumptions used to create the "hockey stick" in the first place? Or is it the marginalization of the Little Ice age and Medieval Warming Period in the data?
Anthromorphic global warming is junk science that has grown into a big business, with billions of dollars at stake, simply because the idea fits neatly into some of this planet's "elite" ideology about how things Should Be.
Consensus is not evidence, and shouldn't be treated as such.

Among actual scientists who are experts in climatology there is no big debate. The consensus is that global warming is happening and it's man influenced. Period. Scientists are skeptical, that's a large part of being a scientist. They have evidence, that's why they have a consensus. And a consensus is hard to come by in science unless the evidence is very strong. Saying that there is this big debate is highly disingenuous.

And economists are scientists if they use the scientific method.

The right to bear arms is essential to our liberty and safety.

Is it any wonder some of the worst crime is in DC where gun control is most strict?

Its true that criminals like their victims unarmed, and apparently some in this thread agree with them.

I finally plunked my dough down for the GTA4 CE today

What's going to be in the CE that's not in the plain version? Other than an extra 20 dollar hole in my wallet?

I need to go pre-order one of these days. And they BETTER start selling at midnight!

Global warming in itself isn't a "lie". The debate is what is causing it.

There is no real debate amonst actual, real scientists. Industry hacks would have you believe otherwise though. Global warming is a natural occurance, however we're exacerbating it - way too much, way too fast. That's a fact.

Iirc, he apologized for supporting the NRA, it was sometime after Michael Moore approached him in his 911 film, but before his Alzheimer's kicked in and probably why the NRA isn't bemoaning the loss of a great gun hero.

I feel sorry for advanced global warming deniers, there is ample evidence out there, and the IPCC reports are a good place to start.

Wasn't there a program or Bios update for the new daylight savings time, which normally started to day? I just realized, I have an older machine that didn't update correctly used for mundane tasks.

Thanks for a link or such.

My top two picks from that list are Ben-Hur and Planet of the Apes. I would add Omega Man to the list. Not sure Will Smith did any better with I am Legend.

Thank You Mr. Heston...

I guess when it comes from a scientist, instead of Bush, people might listen? Probably not, Gore and his buddies have too much money to make pushing the lie.

Global warming in itself isn't a "lie". The debate is what is causing it.
