The Witcher Content Coming

This The Witcher Q&A on The Witcher Vault chats with Mateusz Kanik, asking the team leader on the D'jinni project about progress on this modification toolkit for CD Projekt's action/RPG, learning this will lead to additional official content for The Witcher as well as mods:
Yes, of course you can expect official adventures under the auspices of CD Projekt RED. For instance we are releasing first official adventure with patch 1.3. You'll be able to play totally new quests placed before story of the game. We want to support our modding community as much as possible so we will be releasing our modules too. We also will try to show some hints, tutorials and so on. You shoulnd't be dissapointed at all!

I played on Hard, so Igni's damage was negligable at best (except against echinops).

I played on Hard too and completely annihilated everything with Igni. You must not have leveled it up very much. But yeah, the spells weren't terribly inspired.

I didn't say they were weak, I just said they suck. They were incredibly boring/uninspired. The only one I found useful was Aard, as stunning provides a one-hit-kill. I played on Hard, so Igni's damage was negligable at best (except against echinops). The shield, eh, never even considered using it (that's what potions are for), the trap was only useful against fodder enemies, and finally Hex I again never considered using. I literally only used Hex at the battle at the swamp tower.

I still haven't finished playing Oblivion, and I'm 150+ hours in. I can't take another time sink right now, but I really want to get the Witcher and show support for PC developers making great games.

The Witcher is amazing, closest yet a computer game has come to film quality cgi. The visuals left me floored first time through.
Hardly. Team Fortress 2 is closer. Also, I preferred the graphics in Oblivion to The Witcher.

There were moments where the actors clearly weren't sure what they were going for, but it was nowhere near as horrific as Arx Fatalis was.

Those moments were often quite humorous. I fondly remember Geralt's reaction to that news herald guy in the city:
Herald: Plague on the loose! Learn how to protect yourself!
Geralt: WHAT?!?! HOW?!?!
Herald: Cover your mouth with a scarf.

I'm not going to be moved to replay the game unless something substantial is added/reworked, like, say, ranged combat, Signs that don't suck, shields/attack blocking.

While I'll agree that the combat needed to be expanded, the Signs hardly sucked. If anything, they were overpowered. Maxed out Igni + Petri Philter + Marabor Forest + Tawny Oil = unstoppable killing machine. Same with the Force Push type sign. I never really used any of the other signs, though, so I'm not sure how useful they were.

Ugh, I can't keep up with it!

But again, that's a good thing on CD Projekt's part.

With the exception of White Rayla I didn't have any problems with the voice acting. There were moments where the actors clearly weren't sure what they were going for, but it was nowhere near as horrific as Arx Fatalis was. And graphically the game already looks pretty nice, though I'd like to know why 4x is the maximum FSAA. I'm not going to be moved to replay the game unless something substantial is added/reworked, like, say, ranged combat, Signs that don't suck, shields/attack blocking.

Meet the next Bioware!

I hope to hell they never turn out like Bioware did. MDK/BG/BG2-era Bioware, yes. Current Bioware, fuck no.

Not to my knowledge, after reading about 1.3 it will include numerous game fixes, the mod tools & a small content update. The BIG content update with all the new graphics, voice acting, etc. "should" be out in late May.
