Out of the Blue

I have an interesting combination of below-average coordination and above-average balance that leads to some wacky moments. Yesterday I was walking upstairs carrying a snack when I basically tripped over my own feet, leading to me stumbling up the entire flight of stairs without quite ever falling. I did, however, manage to spill iced tea on every single stair along the way. It's all cleaned up now, and who knows? Maybe they will look better after all that and I will begin to market some funky sort of tea-based furniture polish.

Juggling is more timing, and balance than spatial awareness. Try juggling when you're walking around and see what happens. We - old school gamers - just get on better in 2D worlds.

I'm a bartender/waiter. I have zero problem carrying several plates and/or a tray of drinks to you and setting them down. But I'll probably ding myself on the table on the way in or out.

That's a great list. I myself would especially love to see Archon on XBLA. And I have fond memories of Patton vs. and Seven Cities.

I'd say all gamers are 'spatially challenged'. I have a great sense of balance, but tend to smack into stuff all the time.

Pch, speak for yourself. All those hours in Counter-Strike and CoD worked wonders for my own coordination. I just recently taught myself juggling for shits and giggles, and it wasn't hard at all.

Damn! That's a big ass game!

http://kotaku.com/372415/gta-iv-street-map-leaked

From everything I have seen (hurry up and save images before they get torn down) and this, every bit worth the 80.00 price tag for the SE!

The hours I am going to put into this - ugh. Can't wait anymore. I have NEVER taken off work when a game came out - but I will be taking the day after release off. We won't be busy anyway.

Gassy much!? hehehehe

Am I the only one that ate Ramen like spaghetti and not soup? People looked at me like I had 2 heads in college.

Actually, no.

I ate it the same way - I don't usually like a lot of water in the ramen. Sometimes, yes, but typically I drain most of it out.

One of my favorites in college was 1-2 packages ramen noodles (including the flavor packs) and one can Dennisons Chili (hot or regular). Mix well. Can eat theat for a couple meals.

'Spaghetti with tuna sauce' reminds me of how my college roommate used to make lasagna.

Lasagna:
Prepare one box macaroni and cheese.
Mix in one can of tuna fish.
Enjoy! ?

This is actually a listed as an error for Windows Sockets - I've seen it once before. You have to love the "returned under various conditions" bit:

WSASYSCALLFAILURE

System call failure.
A system call that should never fail has failed. This is a generic error code, returned under various conditions.

Bah Blue you take all the fun mystery out of cooking my grandma had, by not telling you what was in it!

Sounds like both my grandparents on my mom's side. They both cooked, and they both had a tendency to "forget" some key ingredient when passing along recipes.

My mom used to tell a story about asking her dad if he could figure out why her version of one of his odd specialties (spaghetti with tuna sauce) tasted different from his, and he asked her about how she added the anchovies, to which she responded that he hadn't actually included them on the ingredients list.

In defense of my man-cred, I drink my coffee black with no sugar, and I dare say my coffee is stronger than the espressso in most Starbucks.

That said, I admit I don't really like unsweetened tea. I make green tea, and put in a tablespoon of sugar and a tablespoon of honey for each quart of tea I ice.

you still got plenty of cred to spare.

I'm exactly the opposite of you. Hate sweetened tea, but drink coffee with a dash of sugar to take the bitter edge off.

I thought the big thing about being a chef is the mystery around having a touch of this or a dash of that, or to personal taste?

that depends though. do you put sugar in your tea?

we all know that sugar's bad for wood (no real truth to that comment...) and decides if you're a real man and can drink it without sugar (the real point to all of this nonsense).
