But it is a hell of alot better than say Dawn of War.

Play close attention Belzabub.

This is an apple. This is an orange.

The two games have absolutely NOTHING in common.

HG:London is and will ever be A FUCKING STEAMING PILE OF SHIT! It doesn't matter how much they fix it because the fundamental idea is flawed.

Anyone that thinks this game comes even close to Diablo 2 deserves to be locked in a room and ...forced to play this shitty game.

Your first reaction will be "Hmm, this looks ok, I bet there will be cooler levels and stuff later on" ....That 'later on' NEVER comes! You will be stuck going through the same boring sewers at lvl 40 that you were at lvl 4.

I wish I could get my money back so I could donate to the "Assasinate Bill Roper Before He Makes Another Shitty Game Fund"

Or A.B.R.B.H.M.A.S.G.F for short.

So let's go over the highlights once more.

-Hellgate: London is shit
-Bill Roper should die
-I want my money back

But it is a hell of alot better than say Dawn of War.

Is this the patch that makes it possible to go back in time and castrate Bill Roper's grandfather in his youth?

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

It's ok. It's basically first person (or over the shoulder) "sci-fi" D2. It's just not nearly as polished, or balanced as D2. (even comparing release D2 to now Hellgate).

I played it for about 2 weeks, then went back to D2. Some reasons why:

There aren't that many unique area's or mobs, so you end up looking at the same layouts over and over, which does get pretty old. D2 probably had more variety here.

Like D2, it's real easy to hit a wall when going through a second time in the game (nightmare I think it's called). Depending on your play style, you're probably have to spend some serious hours grinding at the end of the normal mode before moving onto nightmare.

The single player version hasn't been updated in over 4 months. The MP is updated quite a bit (unless you live in Europe - if so, its been about 4 months as well).

The SP version is missing functionality and fixes that the MP has had for months. It also is buggy as hell. Expect crashes and other wierdness in SP.

Both versions have a memory leak that'll do weird things after awhile.

The MP population, which was never very large has dropped a bunch since release.

There are limitations on the number of MP characters you can have, and the number is pretty low if you aren't a paying subscriber.

I don't know why, but I continue to be interested in this game. Is there anyone here who's played it that can comment on it?

Note: I'm not looking for comments on their business model. We've already been through that enough times.

Thanks!
