I don't know, I haven't played DIPRIP yet. I'm just saying that vehicle combat games should rely more on driving skills than aim and if you add mouse aim, this doesn't happen.
That doesn't seem like much of an argument considering the game already has aimable weapons but no mouse steering.
It used mouse steering but it also used a mouselook button that switched you over to weapon aiming. I'd love to see them use that here.
The problem with that control scheme is that it turns your game into a shooter with wheels. Vehicular combat should rely more your driving skills than your aim.
Huh, turns out the stuttery vehicle movement was just when I host my own game, joining others is smooth.
Turning the vehicles stutters a lot. The framerate is fine, and swinging the view around is smooth, it's just the vehicle turning which is rough. Anyone not having this issue with the demo?
Working perfectly fine here too. Just having a bitch of a time convincing people to play. Laziness seems as much of a threat to mods these days as anything else.

No problem turning at all.
Also, use the handbrake for quick 180's....even if you are going slow.
If anyone remebers Bandits: Phoenix Rising, they had one of the best control schemes for a car combat game. It used mouse steering but it also used a mouselook button that switched you over to weapon aiming. I'd love to see them use that here.

This is pretty cool, but for some reason it really stutters here and there, while other Source games and mods run great on my system. Great idea for the mod though, and I'm looking forward to playing it more.
Well I got the installer quick. The stuff I need from Steam is trickling in very, very slowly.
