How quickly gamers forget their lessons.
Remember Cevat Yerli, the President Crytech and his claims in interviews about Crysis performance? He said crysis would benefit from quad core cpus. Then the demo came out and intelligent reviewers benchmarked it and found that his quadcore claim was completely untrue. But the intelligent reviewers said it was only a demo so maybe the situation would change when the retail came out. The retail came out and nothing changed. Cevat Yerli also said that Crysis would benefit from a 64 bit OS. And once again reviewers tested his claims and found them to be untrue in the retail game. He also said that the game would benefit from 4 GB of RAM and reviewers once again blew up that claim. You see a pattern here. If you followed his claims and based your purchases on those, you would spend money to purchase a 64 bit OS, a quadcore CPU, and extra memory.
What's the lesson here? Exercise some god damn skepticism. This guy is saying that DX10 under vista runs faster than DX 9 under vista in his game. Call me skeptical and make the guy show you benchmarks and the methodology used to as the basis for this claim. I really hope when the game comes out someone actually tests these claims like they did for Cevat Yerli and Crysis.
