No. AMD are a group of people, therefore you use "are", not "is".
Do they not teach English grammar in schools anymore?

AMD is one group of people acting as a singular entity so "is" is correct. For example, the all-star team is comprised of the best players in the league. The company is having its picnic at the baseball stadium. AMD is having a hard time getting its shit together.

I'd ask if you are smarter than a fifth grader, but I already know the answer.

Even though I've never been employed as an editor, I have spent more than my fair share of time editing words in print. The problem here is that we're dealing with a collective noun, so the grammar rules depend on whether you're referring to the collective as an entity or all of the individual members of the collective.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_noun

Corporations are generally treated as single entities even though they are comprised of multiple employees, shareholders, etc. This follows from the definition of a corporation.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/corporation
(2: a body formed and authorized by law to act as a single person...)

From this point of view, I believe the article should be titled:
Is AMD digging its own grave?

Should be IS, not are.

No. AMD are a group of people, therefore you use "are", not "is". See Fang's post where he wrote:

AMD/ATI have a lot of challenges facing them

If I were to question that, I wouldn't say "is they facing challenges?"

And his whole argument is that AMD is going to fail because they have delayed their drivers by a month.

It sounds more like a guy whining that he can't get a new driver feature leaked to him.

AMD/ATI have a lot of challenges facing them, since they play second fiddle to Intel and Nvidia. But not getting pre-release drivers out a month early is the least of them.

Are tweakdown failing with grammer?

Example: Saying it with intel it just doesn't sound right.
"Are Intel Digging..."
"Is Intel Digging..."

Should be IS, not are.

My spelling sux and so does my grammer but it irks me when something in a HEADLINE is wrong.
