Sins can run at a widths and heights less than 1024 and 768 respectively, you just need to switch into maximized windowed mode. We've had several emails regarding this and everyone has got it running successfully so far.

What kind of extravagant idiot purchases a 1080p TV when they sit too far from it to be able to distinguish the difference?

Seriously, there's a distance beyond which you can't tell. If you've burnt money on a 1080p TV, but you sit so far back you can't distinguish the pixels, then paying for a 1080p TV is a waste of money.

For me personally, I have a 30" TV in a room where the couch is 12' from the screen... a 1080p TV would have been a waste.

I'm running on a 1080p HDTV and playing at 1920x1080 without a problem, it might be a problem with windows detecting the resolutions supported by your tv.

No, he is correct. The game does not output anything less then 1024x768.

720P is 1280x720
720 is less then 768.
It is not a major problem, and I am sure they can fix it. It was just overlooked, as nobody should be using less then 1024x768 in this day in age; they just forgot about people playing on 720P WS TV's.

I was really looking forward to this game, yet after firing it up I come to find the game does not support any resolution with a vertical less then 768. I use a widescreen TV as my monitor at 1280x720, so im screwed. In addition for some reason 1920x1080 is not available to be selected. In summary the devs took too many shortcuts and if you use an HDTV as your monitor avoid this game.

Sucks. Contact them though, they will fix it.

Have you emailed support or checked their boards?

edit: Try this: It looks like you can manually edit the screen rez. And I'm willing to bet that if you ask them, they might try to include your issue in an upcoming patch (I don't speak for them, and I'm not promising anything, but it never hurts to ask.)

I bought mine back on 7th, and it's now 24th, so I sent em an email. Yeah you get to download it, but I'm kinda looking forward to getting that package in the mail aswell.

I ordered on Jan. 29th, and got the boxed version on the 13th of Feb.

My experience with Stardock sales support was also positive. I bet you get a reply on Monday, when they return to work.

Hi folks,

Not only did I write the article, but I also work for Best Buy/Future Shop.

Future Shop is getting 600 copies of the regular edition into stores. Best Buy is getting 500. Best Buy will also be carrying the CE (we've initially ordered about 50 copies) online only (shipping's about $2 and it ships out of mississauga, so it'll take about 3 days from TO to Vancouver usually). They should show up online by Tuesday.

Hope that helps, hope everyone enjoyed the article. Part two is coming - I just got back from the launch party - those Ironclad folk know how to party.

I bought it for 6 tokens on Stardock. Meaning it cost me 36 bucks total. What's wrong with that route? I can still DL the CE stuff from their site.

$70?

Ohh, you are in Canada. Crappy shipping and I guess import fees or something?

Bummer. Some of the extra bonus items in the CE are really nice (well, everybody says they are, and the ideas behind them are really nice). Hopefully I will have mine Monday!

You might just buy the digital version, I am assuming it would not be $65 as no shipping and fees? Then just burn a backup to have a disc. I guess you can do that with Stardock?

Granted it might be a bit more than you can find elsewhere

$70 to go that route... not gonna happen. I'll just keep checking to see if it eventually makes it into my local walmart, or pick it up this summer when I plan to head down to Vancouver.

I too have tried 3 times now to get this game locally, no dice. EB/Gamespot get 1 copy a week if that, weird.

Guess I will go online to get the CE as long as I get a boxed copy.

Yeah, I bought the CE online. Been playing it for a while. I am guessing the hard copy will come in Monday.

Buy it through Stardock online. You'll get what they refer to as the Collectors Edition, be able to download it immediately, and then get the hard copy a few days later. Granted it might be a bit more than you can find elsewhere, but it's worth it.

Of course I'm assuming you've got the bandwidth for the download (it weighs in at a bit over 2GB iirc) and that you live in a place where this is possible.
